What a good way to start my new travel blog – Lonely Planet Magazine has published this photograph in the February 2011 edition of the magazine. I took it in June 2007 from the 86th observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York.
I think that the view you get from the top of the Empire State Building is the best way to take in New York and get an understanding of where everything is. It gives you some perspective of the small scale of the island of Manhattan and is a starting point for thinking of where to go.
I will keep this blog updated with some images of my favourite places in the world. I hope that you like the places and my pictures. Also check out my portrait photography blog for another image from that place and time.
By the way can you spot the Statue of Liberty on this picture - it is there but it is quite small!
