Granville Island, Vancouver, Canada

What an amazing place Granville Island in Vancouver is. One of the ways of getting there is by a short ferry ride from downtown which helps add to the experience.

The island is full of indoor markets selling everything from fish to flowers, there is also a children's market and waterpark playground.

There is a wonderful atmosphere on Granville Island with buskers and street performers. Here are a few images taken whilst wondering around the island on a Saturday in June 2011. Please also check out my main photography website

First let's look at what you can buy in the markets, from the conventional...

To the more unconventional...

The island attracts a better class of busker...

and wedding parties who want an interesting back drop for their photographs....

Whilst their guests are left to take their own pictures...

or just hang out...

Urban Glasgow Project

If you look at my website, portrait blog or Facebook page you'll mainly see pictures of people. My portrait and wedding photography business is is keeping me busy which has meant that I haven't had as much time as I would like to time to take landscape images around the beautiful Loch Lomond countryside that surrounds me.

During the last Bank Holiday I decided to spend some time doing something completely different and disappeared into Glasgow wandering the streets in search of some nice gritty urban views, I really enjoyed it. I now want to take more on this theme so these images are just for starters and I hope that you enjoy them.
